Merry Christmas and thank you for all of your love and support.
I appreciate all that you have done for me and I can guarantee that Boxrope wouldn’t be nearly as big without you.
So I hope you enjoy your time off, eat way too much food and finally dedicate some time to just sitting down to relax.
It’s been a big year for you,
It’s been a big year for me,
And I'm sure next year will be an even bigger year for both of us.
But for this one day, I say we just forget about the work and simply enjoy the time with our families.
Biggest Fights Of 2023
We already did a 2023 recap for Boxrope (Scroll down for the link)
But I thought why not do a 2023 recap for boxing…
And what better way than to remember the top 3 most exhilarating fights of 2023?
3. Devin Haney vs. Vasyl Lomachenko
It may only be the third biggest fight of this year
But it was also the number 1 most controversial fight of 2023.
Now it is Christmas so I won’t start any political discussion about whether or not Haney deserved that victory
But it can make an interesting conversation while sitting at the table on Christmas day
Especially if you’re looking to add a bit of spice to a bland conversation or awkward silence.
Anyways, according to the scorecards and the 4 judges…
Haney did defeat Lomachenko by a unanimous decision.
2. Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis
In second place we had a fight that wasn't even for a belt
But that isn’t what made both athletes so esteemed in the world of boxing
This was a battle of speed vs power
Ryan Garcia with is an unmatchable hand speed
And Gervonta Davis with his irrational punching power.
This fight ended with Gervonta Davis hitting Ryan with a liver shot in the 7th round…
That Garcia simply could not recover from.
1. Errol Spence Jr vs. Terence Crawford
Finally, we have the fight that finally happened after years of back-and-forth
This was by far the most shocking and adrenaline-dumping fight of the year
Anyone who has not seen this fight is missing out
Because before the fight, nobody could tell you who was going to win
I remember everywhere from expert analysis to polls on Instagram stories…
It was 50/50 on who would come out victorious.
Regardless when fight day rolled around…
Crawford wiped the floor with Spence,
It was not even close and Spence was left almost unrecognisable
Biggest Fights Of 2024
So there you have it,
Those were the most exciting and entertaining fights of 2023
And it looks like 2024 won’t be any less exhilarating
Because we already have some crazy fights lined up that you are not going to want to miss
3. Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder
First up we have the heavyweight bout that has been in discussion for a while now,
However, rumor has it that this fight contract is closer than ever to being signed.
Meaning that the skillful and patient Anthony Joshua will most likely step into the ring with the bronze bomber aka Deontay Wilder.
Now the question is…
How well will Joshua be able to keep up with Wilder's power and is he strong enough to break Wilder's spirit?
In my opinion, I’m choosing wilder
But there will be a full analysis of ‘why’ if the fight gets confirmed,

2. Devin Haney vs. Gervonta Davis
This one isn’t confirmed either and is still in the smack-talking era
But a few days ago Haney posted an edited photo of Tank vs Haney and even captioned it “2024”
So even though it isn’t yet confirmed, we know that it is in discussion
And we also know that these are 2 fighters who challenged the best in 2023
If it does happen, who would win?
Tank
Again I would love to hear your opinion but I just can’t see Haney avoiding that KO punch for 12 rounds
Especially against a maestro like Gervonta
1. Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk
Finally, we have a fight that has been confirmed.
This fight will be taking place on February 27th and will be the first time that the heavyweight belts become undisputed in over 24 years.
Now there is no doubt that both fighters understand the effect this bout will have on their legacy
And so we can expect peak performance from both athletes.
Who will Win?
Tyson Fury
Regardless of his last fight, Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight in the world and he comes in with an overwhelming size advantage (Fury is 6 inches taller)
